Johnny Cash's Son Tells All in New Book
For those of you who thought that all was sunshine and roses for Johnny Cash and June Carter because the movie Walk The Line ended on such a positive note, think again. The famous couple’s son has written a book that tells the stormy truth about his parents’ (as well as his own) drug addiction, financial troubles and rocky relationship.
In the book entitled
Anchored in Love: The Life and Legacy of June Carter Cash, 37-year-old John Carter Cash recalls a glamorous childhood, filled with travel to exotic places and surrounded by celebrities—but a childhood lived in constant fear that his parents would split up. Despite the candid subject matter, the book remains a heartfelt tribute to his mother (forced to live in the shadow of a music legend) as well as an enduring story about unconditional love.
“My parents' love for each other lasted throughout their whole life," John said. "They didn't give up...They accepted each other totally unconditionally…They just had an odd way of showing it sometimes.”
Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash both died within three months of each other in 2003.
