Bonnie “Prince” Billy to Release Covers Album

Prolific indie folk artist Bonnie “Prince” Billy (who also goes by Will Oldham and a handful of other monikers) will release a new album of cover songs on November 20 via Drag City. The album, Ask Forgiveness, features a wide-range of selections, including Björk’s “I've Seen It All” from the soundtrack to Dancer in the Dark, Danzig’s “Am I Demon” from his 1988 self-titled debut, and R. Kelly’s “The World's Greatest” from the Ali soundtrack.

Bonnie “Prince” Billy is no stranger to odd musical pairings. Earlier in the year, he was seen dancing along with comedian Zack Galifianakis in a video for Kanye West’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” He also contributed a track – a lo-fi cover of Mariah Carey's “Can't Take That Away” – to the compilation album Guilt By Association from Engine Room Recordings.

Fans can expect a minimal, stripped-down sound on Ask Forgiveness. The songs were recorded in Philadelphia with Maggie Wienk (cello) and Espers’ Meg Baird (vocals) and Greg Weeks (electric guitar).

The tracklist for Ask Forgiveness:

1. I Came Here To Hear The Music
2. I've Seen It All
3. Am I Demon
4. My Life
5. I'm Loving The Street
6. The Way I Am
7. Cycles
8. The World's Greatest

Van Halen Reunion on AGAIN?!?!

The whispers of a Van Halen reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth at lead vocals are picking up yet again, with the group reportedly in the process of mapping a fall arena run.

Billboard reports that arenas in several major markets are holding dates open for the potential Van Halen shows, and Melodicrock.com claims that the band is currently expected to hit the road in September...

"Billboard reports that arenas in several major markets are holding dates open for the potential Van Halen shows" --- how sad
Not sad...Awesome! Well, kinda... Its not a full fledged reunion unless Mikes there.
Some may think it's sad, but David Lee Roth's JUMP was one of my first cassette tape purchases... great memories!
I'll go along with BOA and say a VH reunion is awesome if Woo can say that (s)he still owns a cassette player....

Didn't think so.
